Are there any guild wars fan meetings? - Guild Wars Forums

I was just wondering if there were any Guild Wars "clubs" that meet in the Greensboro North Carolina area? Has anyone heard of people actually having clubs that meet in person to discuss Guild wars over dinner? How can I find others in my area to meet in person to start a club?

Any info appreciated!

that would be pretty awsome to meet other ppl that play. i myself am from CA and havent really heard anything of the sort. only thing ive heard of is the big pc gaming convention but nothing within the area for me. then again not sure if my wife would be comfortable in me meeting real life ppl from a game that she doesnt like me playing in the first place lol.

I've played for 5 years and wouldn't want to meet any Guild Wars players in real life unless they were good in-game friends or guildies. And I'd use a fake name so no one would know who I was. LOL

The only groups of which I've heard, all started out either as friends prior to playing GW or they were long time guildmates who eventually arranged meets.

Keep it friend only based meetings, that's my suggestion. Honestly, I'd be hesitant to join any major GW player gatherings based off what I've witnessed in game. I have far too little faith on the concept of everyone can be friends based on the same interest rather than backgrounds. Sounds good on paper, but I'm leaning towards the sad reality of it not being able to work for it's purpose.

lol, thanks for the response. That's pretty much what i figured, but I just wanted to make sure. I know there are D&D groups that meet and didn't know if there was an underground GW too

Several years ago, there was a Guild Wars forum at Dragon Con in Atlanta, GA. Everyone talked about forming a Dragon Con guild and someone even took names and contact information. I never heard from them. Oh well.
